Have you been to Skateland before?

We are learning to use descriptive language in our recounts.
I know I can do this when I use 8 adjectives and 6 verbs to describe my weekend.

In the holidays I went to church with my auntie and my cousins Summer, April and Maddy. We travelled there in my auntie's big, brown car. We sang songs and prayed in church. We were also blessed by the priest.

After church, I went to my nana's house and played Guld wars 2 until 2.00pm. Guild wars 2 was fun because we went to the Caldeon forest, Queensdale and the dreamer's terrace. Our characters also danced, slept and laughed togehther. My cousin Summer named her character SAMgirls and I was Bella James.


After an hour, we went to skateland in Panmure. Skateland is a big, fun and hot place. When we got inside, we put on our 4 wheeled skates. When we tried to stand, we sliped because of the wheels, so we held onto the wall and slowly moved to the skating arena. 

After we went inside the skating arena, we practised skating with my uncle. It was fun beacuse I learnt more about skating as time passed. Our skates were comfortable, brown and 4 wheeled skates.

After a while, my mum picked me up to take me home. When I got home, I watched Every witch way. It was about five withes and two of the disappered and teleported into a video game. Their names were Emily and Mia.

It was the best day ever because I got to go skating for the first time. I feel glad that I got to play Guild wars 2 with my cousin Summer.

Happy Birthday April!

On Saturday the 4th of April, I went to Mcdonalds with my parents and my three cousins Chloe, Carlos and Celeste. We all went by my mum's car.

At Mcdonalds we met my uncle, his friend and my cousin Summer and April. When we got to the counter we ordered some food. I had pancakes and a hot chocolate. It was delicious. While we were eating our food , my auntie, uncle and my other cousin Madelyn came with cupcakes. When I finished eating I had a little peep at the cupcakes. They were my favorite!  It was blueberry and chocolate muffins. After that we got in our cars and headed to the Easter show at the ASB showgrounds.

When we got there we had to pay for our parking which was ten dollars. We parked at the back and it was a far walk to the entrance. When we walked inside, my auntie bought a family pass(tickets). There were 45 passes per group. I was partnered with my parents and my cousin Celeste.

Our first ride was the wavy roller coaster. It went up and down. It made my tummy tickle. When it finished, we got off the ride, we felt dizzy and our legs were wobbly. After that we checked out some more cool games and we met up with my cousins, uncle and his friend again.

After a while we went to our second ride, which was the bumper cars. It looked bumpy to me. Celeste and I versed each other. I was in a golden car and Celeste was in a blue car. When we got in our cars, a man told us the rules. He said, "You have to go around in circles and you have to keep your foot on the bottom right pedal." It was bumpy but fun.

Next, we went to our third ride. It was the spaceship. When we got inside we had to lie down on the couches. After five minutes the spaceship started to spin around for 20 minutes. When I tried to get up, my body felt heavy. When e got out we had to walk as fast as we could to get our circus tickets.

When we got there, we saw my auntie, uncle and their three daughters. My parents bought us 4 tickets and they also bought cotton candy, popcorn, fizzes and juices. I had popcorn and L&P.

When we got inside, we watched the first act. Two people were dancing wearing purple the others were wearing red. Later on a boy came on stage juggling heaps of balls. It was cool!

When the show was over, we went on our last ride. It was the haunted train. I sat next to Celeste. At first it was dark but I can still read the word on the wall that said HELP ME! While I was reading it, a ghost popped up. I felt scared and I screamed my lungs out! I really thought that it was a very frightening experience for me. At the end of the train ride I felt wet with sweat.

It was the best day ever because I got to attend to my little cousin's birthday. I wished that we stayed longer.

I know I can do this when I use appropriate adjectives and verbs in my recount. 

The Awesome day at the Beach!

On Tuesday afternoon, I went with my mum, dad and uncle. We travelled by car to the beach to have some fun.

When we went to the beach, I got changed into my togs with my dad. My dad and I wore T-shirts and shorts. My mum was sitting on a mat eating junk food while my uncle walked around the beach. The water was so cold. My dad was swimming and I was floating in the sea.

After a while, it was getting dark so I had to get out the water. It was cold after I got out of the water. When I got to the car, I got changed. Then my family and I went to Burger King. I got a bacon burger, my mum got some pork and rice, and my dad and uncle had fish and chips.

Then we finally went home. I was really tired, but I had to have a shower to wash of the sand. After I had a shower, I went to eat my burger in the lounge with my mum. We watched NCIS on the T.V. When the series was finished I went to sleep.

It was the best day ever. I wish that we could go to the back again. I felt really happy and full. The best part was when my dad and I went for a swim.

Learning intention: We are learning to use the structure of a recount correctly. 

Success criteria: I know I can do this when I write my orientation, followed by the body and then the conclusion.
