Have you watched Hunger games 3? I have!

On Sunday the 21st of November I felt really excited because my mum and I were going to my cousin's 12th birthday. We drove there in my mum's big, silver car. We had to drive all the way to Sylvia Park because that's were the movies were held.

When we got to Sylvia Park, my mum tried to find a car park near the mall, well I went to the theater to wait for her. When she found a car park she ran as fast as she could because the movie had already started. When I got inside the mall, I ran up the stairs and went inside the theater. When I finally got to the waiting room for the private screening, I saw my auntie and uncle that were waiting for my mum and I to come because we were the last ones.

A while later my mum came and we got our buttery popcorn, sweet m and ms, delicious ice cream and a refreshing drink of coke. When we went inside cinema 10, it was really dark, so my mum switched on her torch from her white phone. When she switched it on, it ruined the movie because people wanted it to be dark inside the room.

My mum and I couldn't find a seat, so we sat on the stairs next to my cousin, Celeste, the birthday girl. After we settled down, we opened our ice creams and dipped it into our popcorn. It was delicious because the popcorn was buttery. The movie was about a group of people that was trying to stay alive because other people want to kill them. The main character was Catniss Everdeen. 

After the movie had finished, my mum and I walked to the car and drove us home.

It was the best day ever because we watched the hunger games 3 and I felt happy because it was my cousin's birthday.


Learning intention: We are learning to understand and use appropriate descriptive language in my writing.
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I use 11 appropriate adjectives and 11 appropriate verbs.

We are learning to understand bar graphs in statistics.
I know I can do this when I give an example for a bar graph and an example for a histogram.

Do you know some facts about Advent?

Learning intention: We are learning to understand the season of Advent.
Success criteria: I know I can do this when I research online to find 10 facts about Advent and retell them in my own words.

What do you like about athletics day?

It was the best day ever on Wednesday the 21st of October because it was athletics day. I was really excited at morning tea because after our break, we were having athletics.

While Room 7 was waiting for the bell to ring, most of the students in Room 7 played soccer. The ball was hard, round, white and black. It was fun because I was the goalie.

After our game of soccer, the bell rang loudly and we all ran to the front of 4 and 5 so that we can get into teams. Mrs. Bullot called all the students from the Kauri team first. The leaders were Miriama and Giovanni. They were really nice.

After Mrs Bullot organised us into our teams, we had a few races. First, the Marian center ran 50 meters across the field. After that, all the teams ran to the field to sit in there designated area. The 5 year old started the race and then each age followed after that. After all the races, we had the 3 legged race and then a skipping race. First it was the 3 legged race. Kayla and Glen competed in the race for our team. They came 3rd place.

Next was the skipping race. Immanuel, Michael, Kayla and I participated in this race. We skipped across the field like the races we had.

Soon after that, we said a food grace because it was lunch time. When I went to get my lunch, I couldn't wait because we have tug of war.

Tug of war is when some people from 2 teams held on to the opposite sides of the rope and pulls it until one of the teams pulls the band in the middle past the cone.   

First it was Rata against Rimu, Rimu won. Then Kauri versed Totora and Kauri won. After that it was Kauri verse Rimu and Kauri won. Then finally it was Rata and Totora and Rata won. Tug of war was fun because it was my first time being in tug of war.

After all the fun activities, we said a prayer for the end of the day. After our prayer, we got our bags to head on home.

It was the best day ever because it was athletics day and I participated in tug of war. I felt happy because we had fun activities. I can't wait until next year because we will be having athletic day again.
