Fossils

This is our movie that my group made about fossils.

No escape!

One day, while I was having a late night snack,  the phone rang. I put down my biscuit and walked towards the phone. I looked around, and glimpsed from the corner of my eye, a dark shadow.... I knew at that point that  someone was watching me. I picked up the phone and all I heard was the sound of heavy breathing, my body shook with fear until these four words came out in a curious tone, "Hello, who is this?". The breathing had stopped, "Look out your window" echoed in my ears. I looked out, I could see nothing, all but, a doll. It was sitting down on a chair and the light was shining on it, it was the only thing I could see because everything else was very dark and very scary.

I bravely went outside and picked it up, thinking it was just an ordinary doll, it had blood at the back of it and it also had a CD, written on it was "Watch me". I was curious about what the tape had on it so I bought the doll inside with me. I quickly ran inside, making sure I had locked the door, I was alone at the time, the only thing that was with me was my dog.

I was really tired so I hadn't watched the tape yet I waited until it was morning. I had to escape this person or thing who was coming after me. My dog kept barking at the door, it was weird because he only barks at strangers. I couldn't go sleep because I could hear scary sounds such as door creaks and heavy breathing so I had a quick walk outside with my dog.

I walked up to a dark alley way which I had to go through if I wanted to go to my friends house and feel safe. I could hear footprints behind me so I looked behind and there was no one. I ran as quick as I could until the walls behind me were closing in, I had nowhere to go, I had no escape.

A person had appeared and said "Wanna play with me?" I replied "Sure" with a very, very scared tone. He came into the light and my face was shocked because, it was a clown, he had a angry face on him and yelled "YOU DON'T WANT TO PLAY", ran up towards me and..


"WAKE UP, YOU ARE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL" I woke up in a shock, I was relieved it was only a dream but then I had found the exact same CD that I hadn't watched... To be continued..

Last Technicraft

Today was sadly the last day of Term 3 technicraft, however I am still excited for the next upcoming term of technicraft.

Screenshot 2017-09-29 at 11.52.52.pngI was full of excitement when I managed to finished the artwork I had been working on for the past few weeks . I carried on to the next activity which was 'Tiles.' I had to cut out many shapes and glue them onto a piece of cardboard. I started to paint the cardboard with a selection of pretty, metallic paints which included  gold and blue. To achieve shine on the tile, I then followed the instructions of our teacher, Mr Blankner.  A paper towel was laid on top of the painted tiles and left there for approximately 10 seconds.  While this dried, I did a 'Parody' artwork which I thought was really fun. My goal was to make fun of cartoon characters.

Holiday Writing


Image result for brown birdIt was another cold and shivering morning.  As I laid in bed, I could feel the breeze coming in from the window beside me, somehow a bird had flown in and it sat on the window seal unafraid of my presence.

Initially,  I didn't see or know the bird was inside the house. This was possibly  because I was distracted by the activity I was engaged with on my Ipad. It was the sound of a soft 'Tweet' that caught my attention. The reflection of my face on the mirror opposite me said it all, "What do I do? Should I take care of it? Should I just leave it?" Those three questions repeated in my head.

It was somewhat calm so I slowly got out of bed, made my way to the kitchen and broke some bread into small pieces for it's small mouth. I didn't really know if it wanted more bread or if it was happy about being fed because it kept tweeting as if it was singing.

I named the bird, Toast, I don't really know why but for some reason I've always wanted a pet named Toast. It flew away after eating all the bread I had given. I waved 'Bye' thinking that it wouldn't come back. But every morning, I'd wake up to see a bird beside me, probably because it wanted food.

Anyway.. that's a part of my boring holiday. Bye 'till next time.

Easter!



Technicraft was so fun!

Technicraft
Today was an extraordinary day at science in Pakuranga Intermediate.


Today is Thursday which means that we have technicraft so we did the usual things we did before we went to technicraft. We grabbed our morning tea, had prayers and then quickly ran to the bus before the bus driver left us.


When we finally got there, all the Year 7's saw two ziplock bags on each table. We were all wondering what we were going to do. It was really interesting to hear what people had thought about.


Once we had finally settled down into our seats, we had to quickly finish off our work from last week. Last week, we were given a long tube, vinegar and baking soda. We had to pour the vinegar and baking soda in the long tube. What happened was that, when we poured the vinegar and baking soda in, it raised up. It looked really satisfying.


After we had completed the work from last week, we quickly got into more work for this week. We received a beaker of vinegar and another beaker of baking soda from Miss Gawith. Our teacher, then gave us the instructions of what we needed to do.


Firstly, we poured the baking soda into the ziplock bag remembering it into the corner of the bag. Following this, we were told to block the baking soda with our fingers so that when we poured into the vinegar, it wouldn't explode in our faces. Immediately following that, we had to seal the ziplock bag before it bursting our faces. Continuing to hold it tight, the bag was then shaken vigorously and suddenly we saw bubbles. It looked really satisfying for me. When we put the ziplock on our cheek, it felt cold and we could hear bubbles popping.


The next investigation,involved using a balloon, and baking soda. 


First we went outside just encase it got messy. Then, we grabbed the funnel and put it in the neck of the balloon, poured the baking soda into the balloon. After that, we poured the vinegar into the plastic bottle. Next, we put the neck of the balloon on the mouth of the plastic bottle without dropping any baking soda and then dropped the baking soda in. It looked like bubbles, again and it also made bubbles in the balloon. We all got a shock because the balloon popped.


It was really fun to do all the experiments but our excitement ended because we had to go back to school so we all packed up the whole class because it looked like a pigsty and then ran to the bus to go back to school.

Remember to ask your parents before doing this experiment.

I love playing games!

Learning Intention: We are learning to understand and use descriptive language in our writing.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I use adjectives in my writing to describe something.

On Saturday the 10th of December, I went to my cousin, Summer's house because my mum was going shopping and I didn't want to go with her.

Image result for computerWhen I got to her house, Summer and I went on the computer and played Roblox. Roblox is a game where there are a lot of mini games. Summer and I played a game called 'Escape the subway'. She joined me and so did April and Maddy. It was really fun until all of a sudden, the computer shut down.

We were all sad that it shut down because we were all on level 20. Afterwards, we went outside and threw a green, small ball that I bought from home. We played a game called 'Donkey'. Donkey is when you have to throw a ball to someone and if they drop it, they get a letter from the word 'Donkey'.

After that, we were bored so we decided to watch some Youtube videos. We had to use Maddy's ipad because the other ipads were low on battery. Since it was Maddy's ipad, she got to choose what we watched. She chose a Minecraft video which was from EthanGamerTV, a young youtuber. He was playing hide and seek on Minecraft.

When we finished watching the videos, we went outside again because we had been staring at the screen for an hour. We played Marco Polo. I grabbed a bandanna to put around Summer's eyes so that she couldn't see us. When I finally got it on, she spun around and started counting to ten. April, Maddy and I ran away and tried to find a hiding spot. Once Summer had finished counting, she said, "Marco!" and in response we said, "Polo". This went on and on for about 15 minutes.

Later on, we played tag. First, we played coconut, coconut crack to see who was in. Summer lost so she was in. She counted to ten and we all ran away. The first person she tagged was April so she became the tagger. April started looking for us straight away so I hid in the garage. Soon April found and tagged Maddy and Maddy found and caught me. After that, we all got tired so we had a break. While we were having a break, we decided to have some lunch because we were all feeling hungry.

We made some nutella sandwiches and spread some butter on salty crackers. We also had some refreshing water and it was delicious.

After we finished eating, Summer and I played Guild Wars 2 on the computers. The character that I played was on level 80. Summer and I went to the beach where we fought sharks and dragons. I also tried to help Summer's character to level up because she was only on level 5. After that, we went to Queensdale where our characters lived and we completed missions and fought centaurs.

Next, we all had a nap on my nana's bed because we were all tired because it was getting dark.

It was the best day ever because I got to spend time with my cousins. I hope that we could play more games next time because we didn't finish playing our game.
