Film Festival

On Wednesday the 12th of November,the whole of St.Patricks School went to the Film Festival after lunch.

It was at Sylvia Park. I was so excited. The whole of St.Patricks School went on a bus. I went with Room 4 because my teacher wasn't here.

It wasn’t that long going to Sylvia Park. Inside the movies there were 3 schools. There was Glen Brae,Stone Fields and St.Patricks.

My favourite movie was the Hunger Games. It was really funny. I liked it when the song came on especially,the song called Problem.

I was sitting next to Niamh and Diva. I was so hungry. We watched 14 films. After we watched all the movies we had to go back to school.

When we got to school we stopped somewhere else and Mrs.Twomey said that it was too dangerous to walk up to school,so the bus driver had to turn around.

We had to go to Pakuranga to turn around. Finally we got back to school,we had a prayer and went home. I had the best day ever.

Need or Wants

WALT explain the difference between a NEED and a WANT 
I know this because a need is stuff you have to survive with like food,warm clothes,shelter and love.
A want is stuff you don't need like toys,television,phone,tablet,mp3 player,boom box,unhealthy food and i pads.

We read the story a chair for my mother.
I know that the chair in the story is a want because they already have chairs that they can sit on and watch tv or have a nap. I know that the chair in the story is a want because all their furniture burnt down and they are still alive. I know that the chair in the story is a want because they don’t need a comfortable and large chair for them to survive. I know that the chair in the story is a want because they don’t need a comfortable chair for them to sleep on or peel fruit or to watch tv on. I know that the chair in this story is a want because when chairs where not made yet they still were alive. I know that the chair in my story is a want because they don’t need to sleep on a chair they can sleep inside their room.
 

Rainbow Power

WALT estimate and measure in cm and mEstimate means take a guess. When we estimate we use information we already know then try to guess an answer as close as possible to the correct measurement.

After we estimate we need to check to see if our question is correct.

To learn this we flew our planes.
My estimation was 10cm and 20m.
My plane actually flew 5m and 72cm.
My estimation was wrong.

Today the coach taught us how to:

Goose step which is skipping.

Score a try with two hand and don't let the ball drop.

Spin backwards.

Side step which is pressing your right or left foot down and the other foot up.

The Night Market

On Saturday the 9th of August I went to the night market with my mum and dad to have fun and eat. The night market was under a car park.

I was wearing sandals, an orange t-shirt with a pink jumper and black tights. In my hands was a pink wallet with a lot of money inside. First my dad was looking for the night market. I felt bored, so I played on my pink tablet. I was playing minion rush, my favourite game.  Then my dad found the market. I hadn't even got on the game yet.

When we got inside the market, it was messy, noisy and crowded. I didn't imagine it being so messy. Then we went to get my dad and I food. I was going to share my food with my mum, thats why she didn't get her food. My dad and I got lamb and rice, yummy.

When we started walking back to the exit we meet up with my dad's friend from church. My mum and I were waiting for ages. After my dad stop talking to his friend we had to go home. I was so tired.

It was a long drive home. When we got home I ate the food we got from the night market. It was delicious. Next I started to watch Every Witch Way, there was a lot of episodes.  When I finished watching TV I had to go sleep so I can wake up for another lovely day.

On that wonderful night I felt so happy.

Have you ever been to a wedding?

Two years ago I went to a wedding with my family. It was at church and it was a beautiful day.

When we got inside the church,I felt nervous. First my auntie got married, almost everyone saw the flower girls. The flower girls were my cousins Summer and April, but Summers little sister Maddy was picking the petals from the ground and putting them in her pocket. It was hilarious.

Then Celeste, Carlos, Chloe and I said a speech.  Everyone was clapping.,I didn’t know about anyone else but my head was about to burst,I felt very, very nervous. More nervous than my cousins, but I was loud and proud. My speech was about how special the wedding was.  

After we finished saying our speech’s we went to a restaurant. It was a long drive to the restaurant. When we got inside we ate some delicious food and some candy. It was yummy and smelt yummy.

Then we saw some awesome dances, then we saw my auntie and her husband dance.Suddenly my heart began to pump because me,Celeste,Summer and Chloe were going to do the hula. After everyone finished eating we did the hula. We had to shake and swing side to side. After we finished doing the hula we all went home.

On that day I felt very, very happy.

How to make a pop-up card

Fold your paper in half.
Cut in the middle of the paper.
Take one half and fold it again,do the same with the other half.
Next with a ruler draw two lines from the fold.
After you have your two lines cut the lines with your sizzors.
Then open your card and push your chair in.
Take your other half and glue it to the back of the cut half.
Make a heart shape and glue it to your chair.
Last decorate your card and write your message.

Materials:

Toaster

Bread

Plate

Butter knife

Jam

Butter

Method:

Plug the toaster in the wall.

Put two pieces of  bread in the toaster.

Push the lever on the side of the toaster and wait for the toast to pop up.The color of the toast should be the color brown.

Then put the toast on a plate.

Next take a scoop of butter and spread it all around your toast using the butter knife,

Do the same with the jam.

Finally enjoy your remarkable jam and butter toast. It should taste delicious.

Stuck in the mud

Method:

First get change into your P.E. gear.

Invite 5 or more friends to play.

Next find a place to play in.

The awesome teacher tells the rules and what a front support is.

The awesome teacher picks the tagger.  

If the teacher says start, you start running away from the tagger, try not to get tagged.

If you are in your front support wait patiently for a person to go under you.

When someone goes under you, you stand up and run away from the tagger, again.

Have a wonderful adventure playing stuck in the mud.

 Method: Firstly prepare your materials.
Next pour the frog blood in the cup.
After that cut the two web feet in small pieces,using the knife.
Then cut the lungs,using the knife and drop it into the cup.
Cut the heart into medium pieces and put it in the cup.
Next stir the mixture,using the wooden spoon.
Then pour the mixture on the pizza and hide the eyeballs and frog body under the pizza.
After that cook the pizza for 30min and put the temperature to 200 degrees.
 Finally give it to your teacher.

Big piece of paper

Method:

First prepare your materials.

Next fold your piece of paper in half,then do it again and open it.

After that fold the corner of the paper into a half triangle and do it with the other corner.

Then fold one piece of the bottom up,then turn it around and fold the other piece.

Lastly draw a treasure chest or a sword or skull bones.

Finally color it.

Juice of lemon

5 petals from a fire flower

Six lumps of coal

A ogers tooth

Eighteen spider legs

Two apples

Three mice

A ribbon from a Princess hair

Method:

First you put the juice of lemon in a pot with the 5 petals from the fire flower.

Next you put the six lumps of coal in and add the ogres tooth.

Then you cook it for thirteen minutes.

After that you add the spider legs with the two apples.

Lastly you pour the mixture on the mice and they will turn into footmen and on the ribbon so it could turn into a dress.

You should be friends with everyone so we can have lots of friends.

To be a good friend you should use your manners.Best friends always use their manners like you go and eat with them never chew with your mouth open,never put your elbow on the table but before you eat you wash your hands & when you are full you say ‘Thank you for the food’ & ‘May i be excused’.

You should stand up when someone is mean to your friends.A good friend will include everyone so you can't get all lonely.If you include everyone so you can have more friends.You should include more friends so you can learn more games.You should include more friends so you can have more fun.

The more you have friends the more fun you have .
